    What is Thyroid Surgery?

    Thyroid surgery, or thyroid gland surgery, is the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid glands. Any disbalance in the production of hormones or change in the appearance of glands might raise questions. Is there any urgency for a thyroidectomy?

    The surgeon will give you general anaesthesia followed by an incision in your neck, depending on the type of surgery. The frequent cause of hypothyroidism is an autoimmune disease commonly known as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. It can cause slow metabolism, fatigue, cold intolerance, weight gain, and fatigue.

    3. Goiter: Goiters are formed when your thyroid gland starts growing irregularly or when it develops a small lump (or lumps). It can be caused by Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s disease, inflammation of the glands, pregnancy, or nodules. Goiter results in swallowing and breathing difficulties, hoarseness in the voice, coughing, and more.
