What is Colon Surgery?

Laparoscopic

Open Surgery
It involves making one large cut and treating the infected area manually.
Robotic
The surgeon performs colon surgery by using a computerised system to manipulate mechanical arms that are holding a camera and surgical tools. Compared to human hands and wrists, robotic arms have a wider range of motion, offering greater flexibility for difficult, delicate treatments.
Endoscopic
The treatment uses an endoscope, an instrument with a laser and camera attachment, to diagnose and treat certain GI conditions. It is inserted through the anus.
